What we did this summer.....

This summer was very low key and waaaay too fast! But, some of my favorite memories were when we......

Went to the zoo and fed the giraffes.....

Played at the see-saw park on a coolish June day.....

Were patriotic for the Fourth of July.....

Spent time with good friends......

Spent most of our days trying to beat the Texas Heat! Swimsuits, pools and ice cream sandwiches usually helped out a bit.........

Celebrated a VERY special Daddy for Fathers Day!

Took a road trip to Waco so we could go see Magnolia Market in person...

Watched fireworks from the driveway of Gigi and Pops house.....

Celebrated with family at Joe T Garcia's.........

Spent as much time with Aunt Carly while she is home from Spain.......

Went to golf camp and rocked it! Looked pretty darn cute while doing it, too!

Snuggled with Gigi......

Went down the slides eight billion times.....

Graduated from swim class and Bennett became a full on swimmer.......

Cut ten inches of hair off.....

Hit some golf balls at Top Golf......

Snuck away for a few days to Gruene Hall, shopping at the San Marcos outlets and doing absolutely nothing at the JW Marriott except for read, eat and drink :)

Celebrated my 34th ( YIKES) birthday with a yummy homemade strawberry cake........

And, if we are being completely honest.... I spent most of the summer being a referee! These kids of mine LOVE to push one anothers buttons. It was pretty draining most days. But, they had their fair share of sweet moments too! And, I'm so very thankful for sweet sibling pictures that I snapped this summer!

I am so beyond thankful that I get to have summers off with my kids! It gives me something to look forward to all year and makes those hard days of being away from them a little more bearable. Being a working Mom is so stinkin hard, so I really try to cherish the summer and the slow pace of just hanging out with Bennett and Claire.
Is it bad that I'm already counting down until next summer?! I kid, I kid. I'm counting down to Thanksgiving- haha!
Thanks for the memories Summer 2015!

Claire's Princess Party

We had so much fun celebrating our sassy little princesses THIRD birthday! Claire is such a girly girl and is into Disney princess everything. So, choosing a theme for her party was very easy! Claire wanted to princess party, but she also wanted it to be for JUST girls. No boys allowed. Haha!! So, we invited a few of her little friends over for some dress-up, arts and crafts, pizza and pink cupcakes. It was low key and fun!

Claire woke up to pink balloons and presents! She was so tickled to be getting so much attention. Gigi and Pops were in town too to make our girl feel so special!

I did such a terrible job of taking pictures for the party! I was really trying to just visit with everyone and have a good time. Here are a few though......

The princesses eating their royal meal- Fruit and Pizza :)

We asked everyone to wear a princess dress and everyone looked so cute!

Claire got so many fun princess dolls, high heals and other cute gifts! It's safe to say, our girl had a blast!

The celebrating continued that night and we had more cupcakes and sang again to our sweet girl!

Claire,
You are the most precious little girl that there ever was. You just make me smile all day! You say the funniest things and have such a big heart for others. You are always so concerned when someone is upset and try to make them feel better. There are some days when you are a bit too sassy, but I think that is just a part of being a three year old, strong willed, GIRL! You know what you want and you want it now :)
I love you so much and you are everything I ever wanted in a daughter! I hope you always know how special you are to me! I prayed for so many years for a daughter just like you! And, God blessed me with more than I could have ever hoped for!
I love you Claire Bear!
Love,
Mama!

Weekend wrap up

Happy Monday! In an on-going effort to try to document our everyday life, I'm going to hopefully pick up blogging again :)
We had a great weekend! With school starting back up and our weeks being generally crazy, it's nice to have time during the weekend to just hang out. And that is just what we did this weekend:)

Friday night, Ryan and I had a nice little date night out while my Mom watched the kids. We ate at Kona grill and had the BEST desert! My goodness it was delicious! If you ever eat at Kona, you must get the Butter Cake! I'm pretty sure I gained 4 pounds eating it, but I assure you it was worth it :)

Ryan and I signed up for a half marathon, so we joined a running group to help us train. This running group meets every Saturday morning and is key to my training. I really don't push myself when I'm running on my own, so I'm thankful to have so many others running along side of me and pushing me to keep going.

Each Saturday after our run, we walk over to Starbucks and get an iced coffee! It's such a nice little reward for our run :)

Like I said earlier, school is about to start back and I was in desperate need of a mani/pedi. So, Claire Bear and I went to get our nails done. It was my first time to take her and she was just precious! She picked out sparkly blue polish and sat so still while they painted her nails. She is such a girly girl and loves having her nails painted by me at home. In fact, she points out to me when people " DONT" have nail polish on- haha!

I promise she is excited in this picture.... just not excited about taking another picture :)

Our finished piggies :)

My Mom came with us to the nail salon and it was such a huge help having her with us! My nails took longer, so it was nice that my Mom was there to distract Claire once she was done. We treated Honey to lunch at Claire's favorite restaurant.. Crust Pizza :)

Ever since we got rid of Claire's pacis this summer, she hasnt been taking naps. She will on occasion, but most days she just needs to " rest". So, we had rest time in my room and watched one of my favorite movies, Enchanted. Claire LOVES the music from this movie :)

While we were having some major girl time, the boys were at Top Golf hitting some balls. Bennett went to a golf camp this summer and really liked it. I mean, how cute is this little golfer?! Sweet boy!

Later that evening, we had a friend and his daughter over to grill and swim! Look at my cute boys! Love them so!!

Whenever we have little girls over, it seriously takes them no time at all to get the princess dresses out! Minnie and Elsa were having a blast!

Sunday morning we went to church and I snapped what might be my favorite new picture of our kids. This picture instantly puts a smile on my face. It is a tradition now that we take pictures on this bench on our way to our car every Sunday. Bennett and Claire just sit on it now without us even having to ask- haha!

I had to post this! Like I said, Claire barely naps anymore.... unless we are in the car. I don't know how this is comfortable, but she slept like this for a good twenty minutes while we picked up a starbucks treat!

Ryan and I finished off the night watching Big Brother and folding our never ending loads of laundry. Seriously, it NEVER ends!!
