January- went back to work after maternity leave. Bennett started daycare.
February- Bennett got baptized and we had a reception at our house after. It was such a special day with our family and close friends!
March- Our sweet boy turned 5 months. We hosted a wedding shower at our house for some good friends!
April- I lost my job and decided to be a stay at home mom!! We traveled to San Augustine for a family reunion. Bennett loved spending time with his Mama!
May- celebrated my first mothers day and 4 years of marriage with Ryan!Gigi and Pops came down for Bennett's first Easter. Poor baby was sick that weekend though :(
We made sure to have lots of play dates with Walker and Palker! Bennett loved being around other
June- I turned the big 3-0!!! Ryan went to China for two weeks for work. Luckily Honey stayed with us and helped me take care of Bennett.
July- Ryan and I went to the Marriott Hill Country for two nights of relaxation! Ahhhh it was glorious :) Bennett started crawling NON STOP! We celebrated Ryan's first Fathers Day as well!!
August- I was offered my job back, and started working half time! What a rollercoaster!
September- I went to lake McQueeny with some Mama friends for a much needed night away! We went to Bennett's second Astros game with the Millers!
October- Bennett turned 1!!! He also celebrated Halloween as a pumpkin :)
November- we announced to the world that Bennett was going to be a big brother!!! We celebrated Thanksgiving in San Augustine with my moms side of the family, and then back in Houston with the Emmons family. We have so much to be thankful for!!
December- this month was fast and furious!! Ryan and I spent some time together in NYC, we traveled to Dallas for Christmas, and found out we were having a baby girl!! What an exciting month!!
Looking back at this year really brings tears to my eyes. It's amazing how fast time flies by! People always tell you, " You'll blink and your kids will be moving away to college". I always kind of roll my eyes and think they are being silly. But, if this year has taught me anything, it's just that... Don't blink! You are bound to miss something!
I've learned so much about being a mother, a wife, a friend and a Christian this year. There have been many struggles, but I wouldn't change this year for all the money in the world. Things that seemed like such huge/stressful deals at the time really weren't that important in the long run. I learned who my true friends are this year and made some new ones. I spent much quality time with my family! They mean the world to me. Something that I want to always remember about this year is the countless hours I spent rocking my sweet baby boy! I have loved that time more than anything else!!!
